Samsung has announced the launch of two new 16:9 HD notebooks, the 13.4-inch Q320 and the 15.6-inch R522. Both models are due to be available in April. The two laptops offer decent battery life with a 6- and 12-cell long-life batteries available with the Q320 claiming 4.6 hours and the R522 offering 5 hours. Both laptops offer Intel Centrino 2 processors and come with Windows Vista Home Premium while those 16:9 displays are good for widescreen movies as well as Vista gadgets.

Gigabyte announced the release of its new notebook, the M912V. Gigabyte M912V notebook features a 8.9″ LCD touch screen swivel panel at WXGA resolution (1,280 x 768) with LED Backlight and 180° rotation angle, The M912V is powered by Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor. The other specs includes Intel 945GSE chipset, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 2.5″ SATA 160GB hard drive, 80 key keyboard, 3 x USB 2.0 ports, dual 1.5 watt speakers, 1.3 megapixel built in webcam, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g wireless connectivity, Battery life of 3.5 hrs. The Japanese manufacturer, Kohjinsha, unveiled SC-Series and SX-Series Notebook. The new SC series is equipped with 7-Inch LCD Touch Screen in 1,024×600 resolutions, which in addition to a 1.33GHz Intel Atom processor has an ExpressCard/34 slot and GPS. The other specs includes : 1 GB RAM, 60 GB Hard Drive, Wifi, Ethernet, bluetooth, 1.3 Megapixel webcam, SD/MMC and Memory Stick, USB2.0 x 2, VGA out. The battery life of SC - series notebook is 3.2 hours with standard battery and 6.4 hours with extended batery. The dimension of this 820g notebook is 189mm X 155mm X 25/33mm
Comprising the Vista-based SC series are the SC3KP06A, SC3KP06F, SC3KP06GA, SC3WP06A, SC3WP06F, and SC3WP06GA, which vary in configuration (only the highest models have GPS and Bluetooth) and range in price from $833 to $1018.
