Dell has introduced an Eco-friendly system called Studio Hybrid. The Studio Hybrid partly uses laptop components, such as a smaller power supply (65 watts v. 300 watts). The specifications of new Studio Hybrid includes 1.73GHz dual core processor, 2GB and Vista; It can be configured with a variety of components which could bring it at par with an Eee PC or a home theater. Besides its green-notion, it hosts a Blu-ray disc drive as well as HDMI output. The Dell Studio Hybrid will sell for nifty $500. (more…)

Dell Is Number One in Open Systems Storage Worldwide

In the first quarter of calendar year 2008, Dell for the first time captured a leading 20.4 percent of the open systems (Windows/Linux) external worldwide disk array storage market with $422 million in revenue. Its closest competitor claimed 18.5 percent share and $384 million in revenue. Dell’s external controller-based storage revenue increased 21 percent year-over-year, and Dell gained share in iSCSI-based SANs to take the number one position with more than twice the revenue of the next leading vendor1.
