EMC has launches its second-generation Enterprise Flash drives in two massive storage capacities. Available in 200 GB and 400 GB, the new larger capacity Enterprise Flash drives are expected to launch for EMC CLARiiON midrange storage systems and EMC Celerra unified storage systems by the end of this year. The flash drives are specifically made for EMC Symmetrix DMX-4 storage systems and are backed by EMC’s testing and qualification processes. In addition to interlocked storage array cache functionality, Enterprise Flash drives have their wear-leveling algorithms to enable more efficient and cost-effective use of flash drive capacities and even to optimize performance. These drives are well suited for applications that demand consistence, ultra-fast performance, maximum utilization and the highest levels of reliability.

Samsung has announced the launch of two new 16:9 HD notebooks, the 13.4-inch Q320 and the 15.6-inch R522. Both models are due to be available in April. The two laptops offer decent battery life with a 6- and 12-cell long-life batteries available with the Q320 claiming 4.6 hours and the R522 offering 5 hours. Both laptops offer Intel Centrino 2 processors and come with Windows Vista Home Premium while those 16:9 displays are good for widescreen movies as well as Vista gadgets.

Neutrano’s Nutec WristFone comes with a 2 megapixel camera placed on top of the face, which also takes video. It supports Bluetooth accessories, has access to FM radio, can play different music files, and even records audio. The SIM card port is under the face of the watch, which is also a touch screen. Neutrano’s Nutec WristFone is not tied to any telcom, making it open for any GSM network.

A digital clock watch dial is used as the main screen saver, and when you’re ready to make a call, the screen brightens to open up the menu. The WristFone has tiny touch-command areas where you can check on your messages, phone book, and main media menu. It WristFone comes with a stylus. Using a stylus to move around within the UI comes from a long tradition of portable devices that basically reject hand touch commands and overall user simplicity. Using 802.11b/g wi-fi the SRV-1 interfaces wirelessly with a remote PC. The Java-based console software includes a built-in web server to monitor and control the SRV-1 via a web browser from anywhere in the world, as well as archive video feeds on demand or on a scheduled basis. Blogger Michael Arrington of TechCrunch who claims that iPod Touch prototypes have been “seen and handled” by his sources, that also claim Apple is in talks with manufacturers.

Casio and AU will release in Japan a new EXILIM powered mobile phone W63CA featuring an 8.1 camera with a 9 Point autofocus and a wide angle lens to accompany the dual LED flash. The new Exilim Keitai W63CA clamshell handset looks pretty much like a digital camera from the back. Other features include a rather generous 3.1″ WVGA display and a microSD memory card slot. (more…)
