Space Cube is the smallest computer in the world, it measures two square inches on each side, and has been made by the Shimafuji Corporation. It has been designed for use in space. Inside the cute little cube is a processor with a top clock speed of 300Mhz and 16GB of on-board flash system. It runs on a Linux OS from a 1GB CompactFlash card. There’s a number of different ports, but most interestingly is the socket called the Space Wire port that links up to the proprietary systems NASA, RSA and JAXA (space agencies of the US, Europe and Japan) use. The Acer Aspire x1200 and x3200 line of PCs use the NVIDIA GeForce 8200 GPU to deliver stunning visual performance while solving many of the thermal, noise, and cost issues traditionally associated with designing smaller machines. Dell has introduced an Eco-friendly system called Studio Hybrid. The Studio Hybrid partly uses laptop components, such as a smaller power supply (65 watts v. 300 watts). The specifications of new Studio Hybrid includes 1.73GHz dual core processor, 2GB and Vista; It can be configured with a variety of components which could bring it at par with an Eee PC or a home theater. Besides its green-notion, it hosts a Blu-ray disc drive as well as HDMI output. The Dell Studio Hybrid will sell for nifty $500. (more…)

Acer launched its latest compact business desktop PC, Veriton S461. The new Acer Veriton S461 measures just 4.0″ W x 16.3″ D x 13.6″ H. It save space but get all the power you need plus improved energy efficiency. Acer Veriton S461 PCs use an Intel Pentium dual-core E2200 CPU at the base level. The other specs includes Intel Q35 Express chipset, 2GB DDR2 RAM upgradable to 8GB, 80GB SATA HDD, DVD burner, Gigabit LAN, low-profile expansion slots, and Windows XP or Vista Business.
