Lenovo Has Unveiled IdeaPad S10 Netbook

Lenovo is now also entering the fast growing list of sub $500, under 3 pound, underpowered devices that is sure to pique the interests of mobile users who already own a laptop.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S10 is a 10 inch netbook with Atom CPU and 80GB HDD. The price-point of the S10 is under $500 to compete with the MSI Wind U100 and others. A 9 inch version of the S10 will be available Outside the United States. The device can weigh as little as 2.4 pounds, depending on whether you use the 3-cell battery (3 hours) or a 6-cell one (6 hours). No one has figured out how to put a full-size keyboard on a UMPC, and the S10’s 85-percent one is no exception.Lenovo is supposed to offer two versions of the IdeaPad S10 netbook. The differences are in the hard drive capacities. The price of 80GB HDD version is about $399 whereas the 160GB HDD version is priced at $449. Both Lenovo S10 would run Windows XP and come in black, white, and red colors.
