Buffalo has announced the launch of its external BR-816SU2 and internal BR-816FBS 8x Blu-ray burners, both the devices are based on the Panasonic SW-5584 BD burner. The new models from Buffalo feature 8x recording for single layer Blu-ray recordable discs (BD-R) and 2x for dual layer BD-R, BD-RE and LTH BD-R media. The BR-816SU2 external Blu-ray burner comes with 8MB buffer memory. It weighs 50×164×281 mm and weighs 1.8 kg. On other hand the internal BR-816FBS burner measures 146× 1.1× 90mm and weighs 900g.The devices are expected to be made available by next month only in the Japanese market. The internal BR-816FBS blu-ray burner will cost 39,100 yen, while the external BR-816SU2 burner will carry the price tag of 44,500 yen.
